- There is no primary super power in the Galaxy; each planet, space station etc is goverened by its inhabitants. Local control is the norm throughout the galaxy.
- The laws, and strength of enforcement thereof are varied from place to place. Many planets are subdivided into smaller nations also with their own laws, customs and traditions.
- While the ancients that brought technology to the galaxy left much to work with, they also left ten times more to learn in huge data stores on many different worlds. Most people have little to no interest in this data, however some see it as a way of advancing life, others as a way of advancing their power.
- Most species stick to their home worlds, the only native species with a substantial presence away from their home planet are the Cipa’ci. The other natives of the galaxy are content to stay home and engage in trade with spacers who bring goods to their world. There are ofcourse exceptions on an individual basis.
- Most spacers are Apsu and Syk’a rii, some are freelancers who own and operate their own ships, while others work on Cipa’ci ships or for the largest transport company in the galaxy, Co’ir.
- The Cipa’ci build space ports on other worlds to facilitate the massive ships with which they transport goods. The few aliens that leave home can be seen wandering the corridors there, as they rarely interact with the Apsu or Syk’a rii living on those worlds.
- Most native species view the new comers as interlopers, unwanted, and unwelcome. Rumors of native species being wiped out to make room for Apsu settlements spread across the galaxy. Heightening tensions and keeping natives and new comers at odds socially.
- The Syk’a rii population is centered mostly on one planet, Syk’rha, but the Apsu, who came in waves, and in larger numbers are scattered about on a multitude of planets in dozens of systems. The Apsu in particular are viewed by natives as a plague of invaders, though it doesn’t stop the natives from buying the goods they ferry about the galaxy.
- There has never been an interplanetary war in the galaxy. Conflicts erupt on one world or another, but no two worlds have gone to war. Though the tension is high at times, the galaxy is for the most part, at peace.
