More canine than cat, the Pyranese tiger is not much different from canine species found across the galaxy. What makes them special are their stripes; much like feline tigers on other worlds, the Pyranese tiger has stripes from the tail to the head crossing the animals back, and legs. The tigers coat is usually reddish brown, with dark brown stripes (though other breed have different colored coats,) that make the beast all but invisible in the dense forest of Pyrah from whence they hail. Maxing out at about 150lbs, the Pyranese tiger is noted for its immense strength and agility; they can climb most large trees, digging their razor sharp claws into the bark and moving at amazing speed as they maneuver vertically. The Apsu of Pyrah have little contact with the beasts as their cities were constructed far away from their natural habitats, allowing both species to live in delightful ignorance of one another.

            Scattered about the planet are dozens of specialized breeds of tigers.  With varying muzzles, tails, coats and sizes, the differences are myriad, but every breed has the special stripes that make them Pyranese tigers.  One such breed being the Nahilee raiders, a smaller than average breed, the raiders are usually about 40 to 50lbs and live mostly as scavengers, through they do hunt the myriad smaller animals on the Nahilee continent.
