Found on the planet Lyodahn, in fact the planet is named for these massive lions.  The largest known cats in the galaxy, the rei’ah can grow as large as 4 tons.  When the Apsu settlers arrived on the planet they were instantly struck by the magnificent beasts that wander the vast plains of the planet.   With no religion of their own, they began to worship the beast almost instantly after settling on the planet.  Their cities are built with walls 100ft high and 20ft thick to keep the beasts from wandering in and eating the citizens.  Despite the arrival, and worship of the Apsu, the rei’ah remains a wild and totally undomesticated species.  They feed on the multitude of equine, cervidae, bovidae, and other assorted mammalian species that also wander the plains.  They don’t as much hunt, as they pluck their prey from the ground.  The rei’ah can lay in wait for hours, luring unsuspecting prey into a false sense of security; as they only feed every few days or so, it is possible to walk right up to the beast when it’s full and be in no danger.  But when it’s time eat, you don’t want to be anywhere near one of the huge cats, as they will pluck what ever wanders by into its mouth in a single snap of the jaw, eating most animals whole, bones, fur, horns and all.
